私はぜんぜん専門家ではないので治験の期間の長短は分からないのですが、文章の後半のくだりが気になってます。
とりあえずＰ１やＰ２の結果を精査してみないと、分からないということ？

→【訳してみた】今その治験が見込まれているようだけれども、専門家は小規模の治験（※Ｐ１、Ｐ２？）が結果に強い影響を与えるかもしれないと言っている。
Promises addiction treatment centersの精神病学者でありCEOであるDr. David Sackは「これらの発見は、大規模治験（※Ｐ３？）でその有効性の立証が示されるかどうかは今のところは分からない。」と言っている。
Sackは「この発見の重要性は誇張されて話されることはできないが、イブジラストのような薬には『緊急の国家のニーズ』がある。」と付け加えている。「一世代（※３０年？）の研究にもかかわらず、アンフェタミン（中枢神経刺激剤）依存に有効な治療法は無い。」
訳の下手なところは誰か校正してくれると助かります。(^^)

MN-166の薬物依存の開発に関しては記事のとおり海外の研究者が進めているのですが、
キャパシティの問題なのか、30例ずつ進める計画だと思いました。
（ちょっとソースが見つからないので｢思いました｣という表現を使いました）
すなわち12週間×4=だいたい1年で、そのほか含めて1年半というのは結構がんばってると思います。
が、Safety Interaction Trial Ibudilast and Methamphetamineの臨床試験の情報を見ると、
Study Start Date: January 2011
Estimated Study Completion Date: March 2013
Estimated Primary Completion Date: March 2013 (Final data collection date for primary outcome measure)
とあり、メタンフェタミン治療のフェーズ1bの臨床試験は3月に終わる予定でした。
実は試験は計画から遅れているのですね。
同じようにフェーズ2も遅れることを見込むと、2年とみるべきでしょうか。
