The father of autistic teenager William Wall who is missing in bushland east of Melbourne has asked anyone who spots his son to approach him calmly, offer him a protein bar and tell him his mum wants to talk to him.
Shane Wall said he slept very little during the night and has spent most of the past 24 hours searching for his son. "Just come home," he said. "We want you home."William, who lives in Launching Place, east of Melbourne in the Yarra Ranges, left home to go for a jog about 6.45am on Tuesday, telling his family he would be gone for 15 minutes, but didn't return. He spent a night alone in bushland with temperatures dropping to 13 degrees.
Volunteers who gathered outside Warburton police station on Wednesday morning wanting to help with the search for William were told by police they would not be needed in the hunt as there were already enough resources available.
