According to Debbie Lovich, Managing Director and Senior Partner at BCG and author of Make Work Work, employee-centric organizations are 7x more likely to succeed with AI.
Sharing BCG Henderson Institute research at WORKTECH NY, Debbie made the case that AI adoption stalls for human reasons, not technical ones.
As she described it, many employees experience AI rollouts as lose-lose.
More work, no extra budget, and the mastery they spent years building is gone overnight. With no psychological safety, nobody experiments.
Her fix is simple and practical:
• Let employees name the parts of their job that "suck their soul" and point AI at that first
• Have them share what works peer to peer. "The productivity will solve for itself."
• Leaders go first. Debbie books weekly time with a Northeastern co-op student who teaches her AI.
Co-create the change from day one, she argues, and you barely need change management. People own what they helped build.
What would your team automate first if you asked them?
CXAI's agentic workplace platform starts with the toil people like least: chasing rooms, calendars and colleagues.
